Melissa Mayes

Executive Director

Melissa joined Teen Therapy Center as the Executive Director in April 2020. Previously, Melissa worked for a private education company as a District Vice President, and before that, as the head of their private middle and high school in Los Gatos, California. For seven years at her former company, she saw firsthand the positive change, blossoming, and healing that occurred for her students and their families because of the care they received at Teen Therapy Center of Silicon Valley. Observing the center’s excellence and proven track record of strong clinical outcomes, made it an easy choice for her to join the team.

Melissa brings an amalgamation of experiences from the non-profit sector, corporate world, startups, and even the health and wellness space to her work at the center. Throughout her roles in education, and now in mental health, her passion has remained the same — creating the ideal conditions where the holistic wellbeing of young people, their families, and the teams who support and witness them, can all thrive.

Since 2020, Teen Therapy Center has expanded not only in its size and locations, but in the important services they offer; moving from a mental health counseling practice to a team comprised of therapists, a psychologist, nurse, and a psychiatrist. Families receive holistic support informed by a talented multi-disciplinary team under one roof. This growth and extended reach have only been possible as a result of the strong, supportive, and collaborative relationships Melissa has formed in our community over the last decade, and the incredibly talented practitioners she is lucky to call colleagues.

Together, Melissa and the center’s founder, stand behind six core values that are proudly woven into the fabric of the centers: it all starts with relationships, we exceed expectations, we do the right thing, we embrace a positive mindset, we are always improving, and we are professional in all we do. It is her hope that all who interact with our center feel supported, heard, and know that these foundational beliefs inform all our intentions, actions, and work.

Melissa is truly honored to lead an organization of such high-quality, committed clinicians and support staff with a deep dedication to the welfare of not only the center’s clients, but our broader community.
